I was born on October 13, 1956. Christ paid the penalty for my sins hundreds of years before I committed my first sin. Before I was even conceived. I've been covered. I'm accepted. And so are you.

I've thought a lot about this "narrow gate, door, or way" and my best understanding is expanded when I read Jesus' words in John 10:9. He says, "I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture." This sounds like a personal experience to me. The narrowness is not to keep anyone out, but rather to assure everyone who enters that they are safe with God. Our eternal security is not based on our national or denominational affiliation, but in a personal and up-close alignment, connection, and intimate experience with God. Thus Jesus' comment in Matt. 7:23 "I never knew you . . . " The gate is narrow which might mean only one can fit at a time. There is only enough space for me and Jesus ~ together. The narrow door or gate represents the reality that salvation is an individual choice. It is not by whom I am related to or what religion I belong to. It is by a simple, honest, and total trust in Jesus, who happens to be the door. Thank you for this series and the willingness you each have to share what God means to you and how the Spirit is revealing truth so others can be blessed.

When you mentioned that the requirements of righteousness look very difficult from the outside but easy from the inside I thought about the yoke analogy. The work of a yoke of oxen plowing a field looks pretty hard from the outside. But if you yoke up with Christ, he is actually doing all of the pulling. In fact, the only real difficulty we encounter is when we try to pull a different direction than Him. As we learn simply to follow His lead, the way becomes easy and the work gets done. It may look from the outside like we are pulling like mad but once you get your neck into the yoke, you realize that He is doing all the real work. I'm going to keep thinking about this for days. Thank you!

I think about 1 Cor 13...the more excellent way. If you say, Lord, Lord and don't have love, He doesn't know us. He is Love.

This series has taken me so deep. I never understood this sermon fully until now. Although I always thought this was what Jesus was saying, I never could articulate it before. The Holy Spirit through you has been able to share Himself the most clearly I have ever heard or seen. Thank you for allowing Him to share Himself with you.

We need to see that the way is narrow, and the gate strait. But as we pass through the strait gate, the wideness is without limit. TMK 304.4

The "pigs and dogs" Being entrenched or invested in a system of religion that props up self as instead or of Jesus. Reminds me of an earlier verse. If the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness
