We recently partnered with a fairly large tree service that is ALWAYS busy! They brought their first load two days ago and to say I was pleased is an understatement. As agreed, they came with all the branches, vines and such. So long as I handle all the cleanup, the wood is free and thus far I've pulled 30+ nice Oak logs out of the dump truck load which I've already cleaned up and stacked. 4'-7' lengths! I have no tractor so I move everything around with a heavy handtruck and chains. I split by hand. I am 63 and enjoy every minute of it all!!

Has a tree service myself. You can have all the wood you want free Leroy ny. Most tree guys have more wood than they want or can get ride of it’s the hardest part of the job getting rid of the material. Love the trump sign.

YES, this. I was gobsmacked when I learned a tree service I hired, didn't do anything with the wood but run it through a wood chipper. I kick myself that I didn't have them leave the wood and take the brush away. Learned from it, but damn, I was stupid.

As tree work goes that was an easy one. About 4 hours. $1200. You need second side job stump grinder. Easy money. Getting an Easton made with box wedge and conveyor in the spring. You should call around to more tree guys they would probably give more than you can handle delivered to your house.

👍 as always! With the side york your doing now, ever think about maybe needing a bigger tractor? Like the Kioti DK line?
@HometownAcres
3 жыл бұрын
A bigger lift capacity would be nice when working with some of these 30” diameter logs but for the 14-20” diameter logs the 3510 does just fine. The 30” diameter rounds you just have to cut to shorter lengths. Not that big of an issue since they’re going to be cut for firewood anyway. If I was milking lumber I’d probably want a bigger tractor to be able to maintain 8-10foot logs
@JohnDiMartino
3 жыл бұрын
His current tractor is kind of the ideal size,it’s big enough to do the big work of carrying big trees and easily lifts a a loaded tote, a bigger tractor is not as maneuverable,harder to transport when he’s helping the tree guy and more expensive. 40- 48 hp is ideal IMO. I have a Ventrac 4231, a Cat 246 skid steer and an older Ford 1910 w loader . The Ford can get places that will bury the Cat , The Cat is great if the grounds firm, The Ventrac can go anywhere you can walk ....ever step trades capacity for the ability to travel on softer ground ,which is important this time of the year.
