In this lecture, I'll explain what the argumentum ad absurdum is by taking as an example the infamous "Pascal's Wager", a pragmatic argument for the existence of God (specifically the Christian god) proposed by Blaise Pascal. This argument is commonly used by those searching for an easy way to rebut their atheist friends, but it is actually very invalid and rife with problems. Hopefully, after watching this you will have a grasp of the fallacious nature of this argument and understand how to use the technique in informal logic, argumentum ad absurdum. Enjoy!
