Johnny Pastrana maybe in the film it would actually be a touching moment, but you can't put stuff like that in a trailer where you are obviously not immersed in the feeling of the story yet.. although i'm having a hard time imagining that line not being cheesy also it does matter how you express that feeling.. i have no problem with expressing feelings

Bálint Ujvári I see what you mean...you made some excellent points. Once I lived in Thailand for six months and I felt isolated...it was terrible...wow, nobody spoke English except for drinkers who got deeply drunk every day at the local bars. I didn't want to be an alcoholic so I did not hang out with them. The bar girls were even a huge disappointment in looks, lack of English, and in their mercenary ways. No solace or friendship there. I tried learning Thai but it was too much of a hill to climb for me. My point is that had I found a friend there it would have made all of the difference all of the difference in the world and the prospect of losing that one friend would have terrified me had I had one. Had I been in deep space, multiply that 10 x...I have said some corny things in my life...ha ha...one of the happiest days in my life was flying out of Thailand to San Diego...talk about joy. :) I hugged my taxi driver goodbye...

Johnny Pastrana That was a joke, implying the film was probably going to be bad. I actually went to the cinema after I made that comment and watched it and wasn't impressed at all. The setting, the theme of the movie, CGI and cinematography were pretty good, but the rest was just bad. Very little character development, stupid romantic fillers and jokes all over the place, no plot whatsoever. I give it 6.5/10 at best, and that's just for venturing into a relatively unexplored subject of long term, long distance human space travel that includes hibernation and its challenges, which they did a pretty decent job of, trying to imagine how it would be and presenting it. Otherwise, it would probably be 5/10.

Tell me about it....especially since they're going onto a brand new planet....thus could have put that space/weight to smarter use (building supplies, food, etc). The way the water floats out of the pool is soooo bullshit... First off, the water shouldn't float out until a force is acted on it, adhesion keeps it on the swimmings pools walls: It's at rest. Second, it shouldn't splat around like that, surface tension keeps the water together. Third, she should still be able to swim in 0-gravity water! Swimming has nothing to do with gravity! Swimming is just pushing water away in one direction so that the action-reaction principle pushes you in the other!

lucy girl Most things i can forgive... the water floating out like that just looks cool, and thats what movies go for... What i can't forgive is there being danger when there shouldn't be; She should still be able to swim in 0-gravity just as well as in earth gravity, IF not better because there is no sinking anymore without gravity...
@rayaqin

we don't really know too many of the circumstances I'd say its not that bad.. The fk do you know about what would happen if the artificial gravity fails
@thegamesforreal1673
7 жыл бұрын
Bálint Ujvári It's actually really simple... Since they are using some magic-scifi gravity generator, having it shutdown would most likely result in 0-gravity (or, more officially, microgravity). In those circumstancesm, nothing gets pulled down and inertia would make everything move in the direction it already moved (albeit, slowed down a bit by water/air resistance depending on in what substance it currently resides). That means that, since the water is at rest, it should stay in the pool for the most part, or at least it should stick to surfaces because water is slightly adhesive.
@rayaqin
7 жыл бұрын
TheGamesforreal So when it shuts down it jumps from presumably 980.665 cm/s2 to 0 in an instant not malfunctioning whatsoever in any case. Given we have no idea how the artificial gravity is maintained that is one brilliant assumption. Also how do you know the artificial gravity didn't have to compensate some kind of acceleration before it got shut down? Also have you seen water in zero gravity? The smallest of movements can easily launch all the water in a container into the air. We don't know jackshit about the circumstances so just shut the fk up already.

Guys ive just came back from watching this movie its fucking amazing
Is that first part even realistic? I mean I know that it's sci-fi, but would water really react like that if it was held down by gravity and then suddenly not?
@agb1953
8 жыл бұрын
So is this how he becomes Starlord? Oh, and propulsion through liquids does not require gravity. They really mess up a movie when they get basic physics wrong. Suspension of disbelief means accepting the spaceship, hibernation, etc. or anything else that might be "possible." It does not mean altering the basics of science and expecting people to go along with something "impossible."
