Material:
- PbO(Lead II Oxide / monoxide) or Pb³O⁴(Lead II,IV Oxide Oxide)
- PbO²(Lead Dioxide / Peroxide)
- Lignin (Sodium Lignosulfonate)
- GlassFiber, CottonFiber
I developed this method from my research on this video • Part 6: Berhasil Oksid...
and this video • Part 5: Persiapan Sebe...
in the video link, if the paste is made using Lead Monoxide when forming into a positive plate (dioxide) it will take a very long time so that the grid plate has the potential to turn into lead dioxide as well, from that case, the framework / grid plate will be easily brittle and will produce a plate that is brittle. Not good, I found the long time in the formation was due to the very little/unbalanced oxygen produced from the electrolysis process to form from PbO paste into PbO2, it was because the conductivity of PbO paste was very small, so PbO paste had more potential to form PbSO4 (the result of the reaction with electrolyte) so that the paste on the plate becomes white (PbSO4).
You can read Lead Sulfate here en.wikipedia.o...
In fact, the grid plate/skeleton is easier to turn into lead dioxide (blackish brown in color), that's because the skeleton produces a much higher conductivity than the conductivity of the paste, so that the skeleton is more easily bonded to oxygen and becomes PbO2, from that event the skeleton will be brittle while the paste does not form PBO2, if the process is forced then the quality of the plate is not good to be applied to the battery, because the positive plate has not yet formed into PbO2 or the plate is still in a PbSO4 state, and if applied to the battery it will produce a small current.
PbSO4 is not conductive while PbO2 is conductive
