What a great opening tone! That’s the 80’s personified. I remember a time when everyone wanted transparent effect pedals that didn’t colour the guitar’s tone. Dang, the more colour I can get, the better. It gives me a whole palette of colours to choose from and paint my musical artworks.

I can't quite put my finger on it but this sounds quite different from other flangers I've used, a little more 'vowely' and less jet wash sounds? Anyways, that sounded fantastic and great demo, as usual

Flanger sounds more Rock and "sinister", while chorus is more Pop and "happy" and you're right about positioning, flanger and chorus sound better in front of the amp! Great pedals!

The video is great but the title is so good it blows my mind :) In general pastfx open up functionality and features that I wish other pedals had, but on top of that to get to brag about using old reticon or Panasonic chips among others - and supporting a smaller company - it's all just really exciting to be part of the pastfx wave. Pun intended

The Hot Flanger in the first position for me really stood out as a great sounding box! I would have like to have heard the "Electric mistress" type flanger with a clean sound, but sounded really good! It's pretty hard to beat the new Boss Waza craft Chorus, but their version sounded pretty good!

@@BigHairyGuitarsI had an original Electric Mistress, back in the late '70s and early '80s. I seem to recall that it did something no other flangers (that I was aware of) did. I don't know the technical terms so I'll try to describe it. It seemed like when it got to the floor of the envelope it would go past it, and then there'd be a second, negative envelope that did something wonderful. The Electric Mistress was very noisy, but it did something magical, that I coud never replicate in other flangers. I'll look forward to your in-depth review to see if this new version gets there. Thanks again for the great videos.

I love the way that sounds. The perfect Ratt tone. I hear Round and Round and it sounds awesome. It's a fun toy for me to mess around with at times, but I just can't use it in any of my music. Simply because it doesn't have a place in death metal. It doesn't sound right... to me, anyway.

Hey Michael. It´d be fantastic if you could make more videos about building classic 80s stereo tones with plugins and more accessible pieces of gear (like the ampero 2). For people like me, for exemple, who live in south america or other underdeveloped countries, stuff like pedals , amps and racks (specially american made ones) are way too expensive and (as big Luke and Huff fan that i am) i´d be very happy to find ways to reproduce those classic tones at home inexpensively. Thks a lot, bro,
