Thanks mate, it’s a great way to get started and keep things pretty simple. Keep rats and mice away too as they keep moving.

Look at richard Perkins or a farm called heather hill farm. They do that as well and have come up with some awesome designs. Both have KZitem channels👍

Yes, I’ve seen their designs and think they are great. We have to have a few different things because of the laws but I really like how they have done it.

Would be nice to hear about the weekly/monthly expenses and costs to get into the pasture raised eggs. Nice earner for you for sure, well done.

I can try and put something together for another video if you like. The biggest expense really is the feed once your get the ball rolling.

@@baldysfarm ya can imagine the feed has increased big time in the last year or two aswell. Have you any arable to grow your own? Been a while since saw your videos so don't remember if you are tillage?

It’s a great way to do it. Would love to work out how to do it on a large scale but I’m not sure how easy it would be. I your stay safe from bird flu, it is terrible this year.

Do you get any issues with condensation on the roof?
@baldysfarm
Жыл бұрын
Never had any yet. I think the air flow due to the mesh floor keeps it at bay. And the roof is on a slant so the moisture runs out of the shed. 👍

Very interesting video James 👍 especially about the use of ash to combat red mite which my neighbour has and for ever trying to get rid of it, any particular fire ash ? Coal, wood, ash ??a lot better than the 1950's farming book I've got with suggestion which was to dip them in lamp oil,!!!!😳 like your trailer design lay out.🙂👍
@baldysfarm
Жыл бұрын
We just use the ash from wood fires and it does the trick. Not sure if coal works the same but I would think so. I don’t know where we learnt it but I know I read somewhere in a regenerative guide.

This is an excellent video and a prime example how to raise hens in a healthy environment. Can you ship few dozen to Ireland ? I'd gladly buy 😃

Cool video James hens are how I started my farming career kept them on deep litter which is a mix of wood shavings and a little peat for red mite on the roosts we killed them with a paint brush and red diesel👍

Hey paul, I have heard about using red diesel before but didn’t know exactly how it was done. Really interesting.
