I love the way Freder gets them to shake hands. The music is superb and timed perfectly. A great moment.

Cleaning up the visuals and restoring lost footage is nice. But the music is so incredibly important that the 84 version will never be topped.

This was, first and foremost, an absolutely amazing movie, made long before the age of sound. The music, added almost 60 years later, fits it like a glove and this song sums up the entire story. I've never seen it presented in quite this way, and I thank you ... an excellent job!

Yes, like the song. The video images that accompany the song, are tremendous, very sharp and distinct, the audio quality, tbh, seems like monoaural VHS. Still a tremendous song and love listening to it, and better with the ending scenes of 'Metropolis, Georgpo Moroder"s conception of this movie, it is a wonderful experience, experience, to view and listen to,, presumably even via best sorced audio and video. the original 1984 release, edit, for this , with this specific soundtrack is wesome stuff!.

Danke for your posting - glad to hear the ‘movie’ version of this super song. It must have taken Mr. Moroder a year to finish his work on this version of Mr. Lang’s classic. And it is still available from Kino (thanx to the Kino folks, too!)

I actually loved this so much when I first saw it, I did an audio recording running all 3 scenes audios together as a full song like effect. It looks likes you did the same thing here with the video, wow!!! I was praying someone would do just this and put them together in one string. Nothing she did in the studio does justice as the versions from the movie here. Incredible! Thanks!!!

Metropolis is a great movie, but seems bereft in any version with this song in it. Beautiful song, beautiful message - and one that fits perfectly into von Harbou's basic idea in the novel. Between the imaginative and the analytical must be the heart.

@@pedrosvlog1183 haha the original is still very good even thou it's missing some scenes from the original showing, but the music in the 1984 version brings more depth to the film. They need to re-release it with the additional footage.

@ginastarke2 Oh, one other thing. I've also got a VHS copy that I've got to play very sparingly. It's a former rental that I bought from Amazon for $30.00. Yes, it was the least expensive quality and yes I really wanted the movie. Here's hoping it comes out on DVD.

@BassPlayerSusan: Kino already did a STUNNING job on cleaning up and re mastering the original without the Moroder. I admit that the 80's version is a little bombastic and cheesy, but it's still great fun. Hey, it makes more sense than the Tommy film! ;-) I'm just really happy to see the Moroder version finally re-released because I kept hearing it would never happen.

@ginastarke2 Not sure if I like the Moroder version the best. Some of the songs seem to hold up well ("Here's My Heart", "Here She Comes") whereas others don't ("Cage of Freedom"). Still this is one lovely song, which captures the ending so well. I also appreciate what Moroder was trying to accomplish with his restored version. I was only about 7 y/o when his restoration hit the theatres, but when I was in my early 20s a local theatre did a midnight showing of it.
