I believe the original pata pata dance is patting your body in various places. As shown in Miriam Makeba's original performance on Ed Sullivan, especially by her backup dancers. But when Anjelique Kidjo did her marvelous cover, her dancing on stage, which is just how she dances, involved a lot of footwaork. I believe dance teachers used this to interpret the dance. It's okay, there are lits of African dance steps and line dances and songs all named the same thing but often the line dance can be different than the original step. The fun of line dances is doing it together. It doesn't have to be historic.

Tutorial shown does not mean squat if all are verbal instruction without music. A beginner won't know how to put it to music. Why don't you put it to music at the end.. Then it will make sense. Otherwise, a very good class.

Like this individual said. It's a click followed by an "H" sound.... No "z" involved. So, click then "h-oh-sa"
