Thought I recognized the name. This is the unsmoked version of Lapsang Souchong, originally from the Tong Mu village, same place as Jun Jin Mei variety. Has some of the same characteristics and really lends itself to being brewed at cooler temp, 185-190 degrees, which brings out more of the florals and creamy texture paired with the cacao, dark chocolaty notes. Jun Jin Mei and the smoked version are the two which you normally hear about due to marketing, this is the forgotten one in the mix but making a comeback. Probably why it passed the sniff test as it's familiar but didn't know quite where to place it. Will pass the Mom test as well.

'Zhengshan Xiaozhong' is Mandarin (Pinyin); 'Lapsang Souchong' comes from a local dialect form of the same words, meaning Zheng Mountain small-leaf, which is the name of the cultivar.

I usually buy from them. They can definitely expand their black tea selection (which I loooove, not much of a green tea drinker). Thanks for the review!
