Sentiero Dei Grandi Alberi is a trek that starts from Recoaro Mille and arrives at the Cesare Battisti Refuge in the heart of the small Dolomites. In Recoaro Mille you leave your car in the parking lot near the Castiglieri bar. Leave the car and along the paved road you will notice the classic red and white trail sign indicating the Battisti refuge, 2 hours and 40 minutes. Path number 120. You begin to climb the paved road until you find, on the left, a detour to a dirt road. You go up along the dirt road plunging into the mixed wood until you reach near some houses where the panorama opens up over Pasubio and Carega. Continue along the flat path until you reach Malga Morando where you cross the path that comes from the Gabiola restaurant. You always continue on a level path, along the forest road, crossing several centuries-old trees that surround the itinerary. After this long stretch, descend along the path losing altitude and then face the final climb that leads to the Battisti refuge at 1265 meters above sea level. The last part of the final climb takes place along the paved road that from Recoaro leads directly to the Battisti refuge. For the return, proceed along the same road as the outward journey.
