America's First Federally Protected Wildlife Corridor
Pinedale, Wyoming...
For 6,000 years, a distinct pronghorn herd migrates from their winter
grounds in Pinedale to return summer 134 miles north in Grand Teton
National Park. Wyoming's dedication to preserving migratory corridors now
accommodates America's first and only federally protected wildlife corridor
for a thirteen-mile stretch on Wyoming Centennial Scenic Byway/US 191, six
miles north of Pinedale. Visit Pinedale this spring and fall to experience our
cultural and historic heritage, the Path of the Pronghorn, and witness one of
the last remaining long distance land animal migrations in the western hemisphere.
