1.Specialization:
India: NEET PG
US: USMLE is a three-step examination program for license and residency in USA🇺🇲
UK: PLAB/UKMLA
It is not a specialisation exam but grants a license to work in the UK (opens doors to specialise in the UK)🇬🇧
Dubai: DHA is a licensing exam in dubai which can be applied for after two years of experience post internship.🇦🇪
2. MBA:There are three main types of MBA degrees you can pursue: Health Administration, Healthcare Management and Medical Management. These pathways tread towards non clinical fields but are a good option for those who are keen towards management and business.📇👔
3. Working as a NON PG JR/Tutor: Working as a non PG JR/ tutor is something one can pursue straight after grad. These jobs can also work as a transition for doctors who have yet to decide their interests and preferences.📚🩺
4.Researcher/Medical content writer: This work should be a point of interest for those who like to deep dive into subjects or are interested in research.🔎 Platforms like marrow, prepladder or other coaching institutes offer jobs to frame MCQs, write notes or write blogs for their website/app, one can join as content writer.✍️
5. Start your own clinic:🏥 Personally I wouldn’t suggest this as a good option as there is no experience. But if one can afford it and believe they are capable they can start their own clinic, hire specialists for supervision and learn alongside. Clinic startups are again an investment and one can expect good returns after consistent work for years.
6. Online educator/startup owner/ content creator: Internet is a place where one can launch lucrative businesses with less investments. It exposes you to a community of like minded people and opportunities unknown.🌐
Doctors have dropped out of medicine and done wonders too.🦾 Hence don’t limit yourself to the conventional path. There is a plethora of careers that you can choose from irrespective of the society’s expectations or parents’pressure.✨
