What he's saying is so true. As a female I was born poor in 3rd world country, I grew up right next to a train rail. I didn't even speak English. My parents can't afford college back home. Plus I'm a female, technically I'm 2nd class in my society. I decided to lock my self for 3 months reading all books just to pass university test that will give me full scholarship, I got into the best university in my home country. Long story short, I made it to the US, currently lived in the US (the best civilization in the world) I got a job in Big Tech making so much money I already have 7figure assets. All from reading and learning non stop, last year I read 50books, this year I already finished 2 books. I'm in the education system and what Gerard just said was a shock to my system and a massive eye opener. As long as you show up on time and you are obedient. That is exactly what we push in schools. Show up on time and be obedient, because if you're not, there are consequences. Preparing young children to become adults that work 9-5 and become a slave to the system. So when the system then gives you orders you must obey (i.e. what is happening right now in Australia with the mandates. If you don't comply, they take away your job.) Again, like it was said here, if you have $100,000 debt, you're less likely to take risks so you comply against your will. Massive eye opener.

We butted heads when I got back and I had I chance to run all the rifle ranges in Hawaii as a civilian......would have started as a gs-13......I passed, great wages compared to what I was getting payed on the farm at the time. But I loved farming. That was my passion besides teaching marksmanship. 2 years later I leave the farm because gpa and I couldn't get along. I left for one year exactly. We sat back at the negation table and we came to terms. Little did I know he would leave me a multi million dollar farm. Why did he do it? Because I wouldn't stand for bullshit and I was passionate about what I did. He knew I will carry on being the best farmer I can be and make for DAMN sure my past 4 generations of hard work didn't go to waste. Your opening comments are so true. I have always attained anything I wanted if I worked hard enough towards that goal. If I didn’t get what I wanted I knew I didn’t work hard enough or it wasn’t as important to me as I thought it was when I started. The only thing stopping anyone from reaching their dreams is themselves. Also, my brother-in-law sold his business 25 years ago for 5 million dollars and did it without a college education. Just hard work and plenty of sleepless nights. My brother was also a leader in his business and did very well. All three of us came from low white middle class households with little or no extra money. We all worked from the age of 12 hustling jobs wherever we could. Also, I made my son’s work while they were in high school every summer. No free rides. Today they are successful without ever attaining a college degree. I don’t feel sorry for all these people with large student loan debts. I worked 20 hours a week while carrying 15-16 units a semester and full time in the summers. My education was aimed at a profession that I knew I could get a job in when I graduated. I didn’t owe money, had a degree, and was hired immediately. By the age of 25 I owned three homes and when I was 62 I retired. I earn six figures in retirement because of my hard work. I’m 75 now and still hustling. All the cry babies can go fk themselves. If you want it, you can achieve it.

13:16 I have ALWAYS been the type of person who read A LOT of fact-based instructional books, and I always have known instinctively what power resides in them. However, the only reason I'm living with my sister and her boyfriend right now with nothing of my own and omw to divorce is due to my own choices in regard to addiction. You empower whatever you blame, and falling back into addiction can cause so much shame that you starting pointing fingers elsewhere. But also to Gerard's point here, I totally agree with that: I have always had that Good Will Hunting mentality. But the problem is that a guy like me can't prove my proficiency with a piece of paper. My proof has to come from results, and that's something that takes very long to accumulate and but can disappear overnight. That's what happened to me: I had everything I wanted with plenty of opportunity for more, but I made a few decisions that cost me everything.

I did almost exactly what Pat did and now I want to create a hedgefund. I’m returning a little over 20% average yearly returns. I’m doubling the market average in crap and bull markets. Reading material from rich people who made it has profound effects on you. It sounds corny but it will change the way your perspective on life. Pat is totally right here. Those books he talks about aren’t taught in public schools or even collages. Like Pat said too though, most people won’t do it because it takes a lot of discipline and the market will react to it.

Great personality. I would say outside of those 4 topics Patrick you should write a book or do a podcast on the personality traits that make a winner as well. I think I get it but there’s a lot of people even with the knowledge on those 4 topics that would benefit from your philosophy on having a good or the right personality. Your personality is right on, and that’s a complex topic. Anyways, that’s what separates you and in my mind. The right mix of knowledge personality and the ability to communicate them all effectively. And then you have the discipline to make it all happen. It’s simple, but not easy. Thanks for the show man.

@@patrciaclemons8183 i don't hate it necessarily but it's definitely flawed. It's not as great as they believe it to be. In its current state it works best the more predatory you are on the lower class. Business owners are worshipped but they can't be successful without employees because you can't do every job in your company and grow enough to be rich. The system definitely has problematic characteristics and can only work with slight checks and balances. Otherwise greed runs the system and only benefits the few.

@@charrua59 it works by taking advantage of someone in the supply line whether it's the manufacturer, or the worker, or via corporate socialism. It doesn't work the way people claim it should. Otherwise there would be no corporate bailouts when the "market" decides to stop using a company or when a corporation messes up they'd have to get private funding to help them vs. The tax payers. If the government bails out a company then the tax payers should get to own some of said company. That's the capitalism we're supposed to have but we don't.

My last boss was an entrepreneur with a mentality like PBD, that boss and I still keep in touch to this day and his whole family has been very welcoming to me and treat my daughter and I as family, he has mentored me to believe I can learn and teach myself anything I put my full focus to, I can accomplish anything given the right mindset, determination, patience and vision. After working for him I started researching relentlessly (for two years now into my third) about economics, business, politics, history, self improvement etc. I saw a fire in his eyes that was inspiring and he had done the work to get to where he was and to form his mindset, he also gave me so much responsibility and would always throw me into the deep end but most importantly he always had my back even when I admit I didn’t deserve it he would swing in my honour because I was part of his team his empire and his family! I know I’m rambling but my point is there is a foundation to achieving your wildest dreams but it requires discipline, mindset, community and patience. For years I used all my downfalls as an excuse as to why I’ll never get anywhere and my chance for freedom and happiness will never come, then I took a massive leap of faith that ultimately fell apart again (thanks global elitists and big gov) but the lessons and connections I made for taking that leap will forever be the fire in my belly I’ve broken my mind from the matrix and see the real world finally I believe in God and that he has removed the scales from my eyes to see the bigger picture, the potential path to be free and the vision to free or atleast help others

66 yo dude. I’ve been studying every thing on integrated farming and what are the most profitable things to grow as an Inter crop with coconut and bananas. I have a few ideas but getting my staff to agree is difficult from the USA. These are poor and superstitious Provence people. Three single moms and kids. I guess I need that book in sales, influencing and inspiring people. Quick one. My oldest of girls has a son now 11-12 that had never been to school. She had scrapped and eaten the old McDonald’s from the trash for those nine years. His first year in school started rough. 10% only and couldn’t reas. My advice was to read 15 minutes each day, out loud, with momma (who didn’t read either) every day. 20 months later he is 87%. In storms, he runs through the groves and finds the fallen fruit. He returns with a grain sack to collect it. He eats the damaged ones and sells the undamaged. I’ll adopt this little mistake of nature and his momma too. In ten years you may want him. He won’t be cheap. Thanks as always.
