I’d like to welcome in the guy who is now calling the shots in New England…please welcome Patriots Executive VP of Player Personnel Eliot Wolf!
1) You received that promotion 2 weeks ago after running the Patriots offseason - congratulations!
It’s exactly 20 years since you started your NFL journey…whats your favorite moment or day of all of them…? Green bay.. Cleveland.. Boston..
2) Your father - Ron Wolf - was a legendary GM for the Packers. Whatd you learn from your dad that you used this year as the guy calling the shots in what was a really high pressure draft for the pats?
A few years after he retired, you started your career in Green Bay, and you spent 14 seasons there under Ted Thompson. How did that experience shape your philosophy and your approach to building this Patriots roster?
Biggest difference going from that Packers ownership situation to Robert Kraft?
You also worked very closely with Bill Belichick over the last few years…what did you learn from him?
Fans antsy about not spending in free agency…but that was never really the M.O. in Green Bay either right? Build the core through the draft…and then when the team is close, make the big swings for the Reggie Whites and Charles Woodsons…
3) This is year 4 for you in New England…you’ve been around Jerod Mayo that whole time. So while it’s a new regime at the top…there’s continuity too. What is your relationship with him like and what’s impressed you about him the most from your time working together so far?
