I have lived in Cambodia for a little more than 6 years, 2 years in PP, it was too busy for me, so I moved 150km south to Kampot. I go back to PP occasionally for a change of scenery. The Cambodian people are so friendly.

Phnom Penh, Cambodia in general is one of the world's great places for 2 reasons: 1: You will feel so humble due to their horrible recent past and 2: The people, you think Thai people are fun loving Khmers are on another level. It was a genocide and the Khmer Rouge killed 2 million of their own people, many books written by survivors

Curiosity and learning took to all those sights in Vietnam 20 years ago Nick. Still gives me shivers. The Vietnamese people are very resilient, just like Thai people. And we love them for this… That’s why we live and breathe South East Asia. Good video buddy. Thoughts with Eddie.

Chilling video of the prison - but you’re right, more people need to see or experience it. So hard to believe this was going on in the late 70’s when I was in college and no one knew it. Glad you ended the video with some good old partying to bring our spirits back up.

Some of the people who managed to escape the cells knowing they couldn't run through the garden and they'd be captured anyway and put back in the cells. Decided to run up the stairs to the roof and jump head first off the roof to commit suicide so it would be over. That's why they put barbed wire on the balconies ro stop people escaping and committing suicide.

I ended up in nightclub in Phnom Penh with a random German guy I was talking to in 136 bar. I've no idea where the club was and it was dodgy as f*ck, full Khmer and Russian gangster types, had one drink and left asap. I still ended up with a Khmer girl in my room, she couldn't speak any English and I woke up with a condom still attached lol. This was in 2016.
