I'm more of a snooker fan and I first watched Mick vs Mark Allen and when Mick slaughtered a quality player like Mark then I knew this quy was serious and at the peak of his sport.

I’d like to understand how you manage to still think so clearly when under pressure or maybe things not going your way with run etc.. I sometimes seem to lose my ability to think straight and still see these patterns in these situations - do you ever find that and how do you get back to thinking straight during a match. Thanks for another great vid 😎

Really enjoyed your first two videos! Keep em coming! Your theory of making the game as simple as possible with the white not travelling far and using natural angles certainly rings true for snooker as well. Im just about to get an 8 pool table in my house so i’m interested to see if all my snooker practice helps my pool.

I think the hardest thing is knowing the angle the cue ball is going to be coming off of the object ball. The "natural" angle is fine...but knowing what that is, is the trick I think.

Hey Mick, so glad you've started a channel. I'm a big fan and a fellow pool scientist! As a guy who plays in pubs a bit, I'd love to see how a world champion would deal with a typical pub layout, i.e. a big, completely unbroken cluster around the black spot and like 3 balls glued to the dead rails. Could you make a video doing one of those just for fun?
@mickthemachinehill

Thanks for the suggestion. We'll add it to the list of possible topics to cover.

Mick would probably do what the majority do is fudge it out. He would still win the majority. Some of the pubs I have played in the tables are shocking. Super slow. Balls won't go in the pockets down the rails regardless how well you play them. No finish on the white ball that causes a dead white ball. Roll offs 😂
@dhirajpallin2572

I see it in the lower divisions of the leagues too sometimes, a person will do a really soft break, 3 balls _somehow_ pass the mid-line but every single other ball is still clustered. I'd love to see someone reverse dish that, it'd be so relatable. @@slotselectagamblingchannel7452

Would it have still worked if you had picked ball number 2 as your last ball the opposite middle or would more work needed be done on the cue ball to guarantee position? I only ask because I’m left handed or would that not make a difference…although I’m left handed I play like a right handed person would

Your “easiest” pot is the last one and the one that looks “harder” is the one you take first…if you can break and then analyse the situation you can’t go wrong…always play your hard ball or the most obscure one first, we all see the game different and from having advice and playing my own way it helps massively
