@@delbertprince5302 I’m doing well but am disgusted that I ever loved someone. I hate trusting people. The only things that I have left is my children and my money. I don’t ever want a man to approach me again. I don’t believe in love. Love means absolutely nothing to me. Men are constantly informing me that they have a job upon approaching. That’s a turn off for me. I have my own money. I don’t care what you have. Get away from me. I don’t mean any harm.

Did you know Patti LaBelle and Michael McDonald were never in the studio together when they scored this #1 hit? Both were on tour at the time when the record company wanted to add McDonald to the track (LaBelle originally recorded it as a solo but the producer felt it was a missing piece) so the song was redone with McDonald recording his part in LA and LaBelle recording hers in Philadelphia. After the song was released and climbed the charts a video for it was requested but AGAIN McDonald was in LA and LaBelle New York at that time and that’s where they each recorded their part of the video (hence the split screen) eventually the song went #1 (June 1986 top song in the country for 3 weeks!) and was a giant hit for both artists. Over the years they finally got to perform the song in person a number of times but I still think it’s fascinating that a hit song was made by artists who hadn’t laid eyes on each other to perform it ONLY after it became a hit, amazing.
