Patti Smith is the best and most authentic female rock performer. And she managed to stay normal and clean in the chaos of rn'r explosion. Gloria indeed!!!

If you read Just Kids you'll learn that she's been getting crap about her sexuality her whole life and simply has not "swung that way." The woman has a nice list of men under her belt. Robert Mapplethorpe, Sam Shepherd, Jim Carroll, Her Hubbie, to name a few. She barely even did drugs. She loved other things, beautiful men, art, music, and her children. She's amazing.

Patti is a bad ass! She rules the stage like Iggy without having to be a ping pong ball. nothing against Iggy. i've seen both of them live and it was always awesome. there are few people in this class. Patti is at the top! Iggy to but i'm talking about Patti now.

Patti is like the other side of the coin with Iggy. I've seen them both and they were both two of the best show's I've ever seen and I've been to hundreds of concerts. They both abandon themselves to the music which show's a kind of passion that I haven't seen often in my 32 years! Pearl Jam, The Yeah Yeah Yeah's and even Beyonce and Gaga have blown me away with their commitment but but Patti and Iggy were transcendent!

Patti has opened up for me the option of exploring who I am. It's a matter of receptivity to whom one may-or may not bo or a combination thereof. It's not a matter of sexualit but, rather, of exploring one's being & proclivities. A matter of frededom.

This woman is beyond god...gets better and better as she ages. Patti Smith, from her 1975 album Horses. This version is based on the Morrison tune, but its lyrics are reinvented for the nascent punk rock movement, retaining only the chorus, and adding possibly ironic allusions to the sacred allusions of the title. It memorably begins, "Jesus died for somebody's sins / But not mine". So cannot wait to see her here in New Zealand, Christchurch Saturday 25 April 2020.
