it just doesn't matter how many times i listen to this album ..... every single track still knocks me down with the rawness and power of her vocals.... ANYTHING by this artist will amaze you but this debut album is STILL my favorite since it released waaaaaay back when

Still, 15 years later, one of the best numbers I have ever seen and heard by the amazing Patty Griffin

The chord progression right from the very beginning is downright cool. I can also feel the utter frustration this song evokes. Patty's brilliant. All soul, that one.

She played at my store in Atlanta with Jann Arden and Billy Mann when this album first came out. She was the opener and blew everyone else away. I've been a fan ever since.

Patty Griffin has to be the most powerful voice in women's music today, and "Living With Ghosts" is far and away my favorite of her albums, followed closely by "A Kiss In Time". I keep coming back to "Ghosts" for its power and purity, with just Patty and her guitar. So many great tracks here, my favorites being Forgiveness with that great little Hendrix like riff, Poor Man's House, Time Will Do The Talking... Hell, they're all great. Hope to see her live someday soon.

First heard Patty in 1996. Every time I hear her voice it brings me back to times of good friends, good wine and a wonderful time in Sharpsburg, GA.

I only discovered Patty last summer when I heard Kelly Clarkson mention her and now I'm a huge fan. It's been something of a nightmare trying to get all her cds (I'm in Ireland), but now I'm awaiting the arrival of Children Running Through :) Her stuff is so inspiring it's ridiculous. Roll on a world tour!

This is actually the video edit. The radio version that went out from the label is actually a full band recording. Most stations just played the album version instead

I fell in love the first time I heard her sing, and what I love about her is her music is real and has nothing to do with sex and shaking bootie, god i'm so sick of that shit, We need more of this type of music. Every person I have let know about her music, love it too. :)

Heard this on WXPN driving around Philly sometime in the winter of 1996. I took an immediate detour to the nearest Tower Records to buy the CD. I don't think it left my player for two months.

This entire album is more than just music - it's an experience. You may think I'm cheesy or sentimental (and I probably am) but get it and try to disagree. That said - I keep watching for someone to put up "Forgiveness"....

Real emotion here! Nothing is forced! I love Patty, she's so real, nothing pretentious about her! When she sings it's like when she talks to you: her and you almost have a conversation!

This was the only video made for that album, and it was never released. "Forgiveness" is a blinding song that conjures a video up in my head every time I hear it. Some day, when I have the dough,I might just make that video anyway.
