Paul Lavon Davis (April 21, 1948 - April 22, 2008) was an American singer and songwriter, best known for his radio hits and solo career which started worldwide in 1970. His career encompassed soul, country, and pop. His most successful songs are 1977's "I Go Crazy", a #7 pop hit which once held the record for the longest chart run on the Billboard Hot 100, and 1982's "'65 Love Affair", which at #6 is his highest-charting single. In the mid-1980s, he also had two country #1 hits as a guest vocalist on songs by Marie Osmond and Tanya Tucker.

OMG!!!!!!! this will make me cry, his voice was so smooth, it's really very nostalgic. he is singing about losing a lover, and at one sight, falling back in love with them. Love makes you feel crazy sometimes, Beautiful song. Definitely gives me a sense of melancholy.I love my husband dearly but many years ago after a relationship with a guy I thought was ''the one'', I still think of him and I know that if I had ever gotten to see him again, I would have felt exactly this way.He passed away of cancer 27 years ago at the age of 30.😢 Hello girl, it's been a while , Guess you'll be glad to know That I've learned how to laugh and smile Getting over you was slow They say old lovers can be good friends But I never thought I'd really see you I'd really see you again I go crazy when I look in your eyes I still go crazy No, my heart just can't hide That old feeling inside Way deep down inside Oh baby, you know when I look in your eyes I go crazy You say he satisfies your mind Tells you all of his dreams I know how much that means to you I realize that I was blind Just when I thought I was over you I see your face and it just ain't true No, it just ain't true I go crazy when I look in your eyes I still go crazy That old flame comes alive It starts burning inside Way deep down inside Oh baby, you know when I look in your eyes I go crazy Oh oh oh oh oh I go crazy You know when I look in your eyes I go crazy No, my heart just can't hide That old feeling inside

Listen to Color My World by Chicago. I think it is 1970 or 71. I was in high school. Went to hear a band at a dance one night. It sounded exactly like Chicago. Just a local band. A guy I didn't know asked me to dance. I never slowed danced before, but caught on fast. He was the most romantic slow fancier. We dated a few times, but lost touch because he lived in another town. Never knew anything about him. But I was only 14. Wasn't ready for a steady relationship. He would call me on the phone, we'd talk a couple of hours. He had such a nice voice. But he was about 3 or 4 yrs older. I always dated older guys. At least 3 to 4 yrs older. But, I can't beleive I married one almost 2 yrs younger. Im 62, hes 6o. Been married 40 yrs. My first husband, and probably my last.

True story, Paul Davis said his record company suggested (demanded) more like it, he do a soft rock album, Paul Davis was a country singer but wasn't selling many albums, this song was a huge success but he felt he sold his soul and it made him sick to his stomach to record these songs. "I go crazy" "Sweet life" "Cool night" "65 love affair". He was happier making less known country songs earning little money than making soft rock chart hits making a fortune.
