Tahiti and the South Pacific is my dream destination. I'll be there in 2021 and I'm seriously considering this cruise line. Cruising seems a lot easier than trying to do a multi island, multi flight trip.

Been on the PG twice - both to see an eclipse via Wilderness Travel. It's an awesome ship with a great crew, great food, the cabins are very nice, and the SCUBA trips are the best. You go right off the back of the boat - very cool!

Absolutely…..we’ve gone on PG twice…it’s the ONLY way to travel the islands. Everything off the ship is astronomical. Unpack once and go..the food is fabulous, the staff very attentive. Pre and post stays are a must as well! Going back when Olivia travels charters her again! ATN poerva class on the Dreamliner…you’ll won’t want to go home!

I cruised this area for 14 days in October 2018. I was on the Maasdam with Holland America. It was top notch. I am planning to take another cruise to this area in 2023 if the war in Ukraine is still ongoing.

Excellent video. My wife and I are planning for a "Trip of Lifetime" next year. Cruising the Pacific islands have always been in our bucket list. What part of the year is the best time to cruise in the French Polynesia? Where is the best place to get a good deal in the US? Would you help people from the US to get a Canadian deal?

The best time to visit Tahiti is between May and October. Although the temperatures are balmy year-round, Tahiti's winter season has less rain. Have a great trip!

Great video. Are they still sailing? I also understand that they are an independent company. What is their financial situation. Will they be around next year?

Hi Huib, the current pandemic situation has led Paul Gaugin to temporarily suspend the operation of the company’s entire fleet. The first sailings showing availability for booking are not until July but this may change due to the current situation. In September 2019, Paul Gauguin Cruises joined PONANT's family, the world leader of small-ship cruising and they are no longer an independent company. Thanks for watching!

Virtual Dinner Party thanks. Might be something for next year in combination with visit to family in NZ and Australia. Saw that Air Tahiti has these combination tickets to Tahiti -> NZ -> Sydney -> YVR. Would be very nice..

OK, this might sound lame to some , But, my wife loves her housework and laundry room, for a 2 week cruise is there any place to do laundry ? I mean besides paying the ship more than the clothes are worth to wash them once or twice

We planned on taking the PG ship in 2022 but am now concerned with covid 19 and protocols. Was planning on doing half ship half over water bungalow. Any thoughts on 2022 or current protocols/restrictions?

I know your comment was 10 months ago, but, having stayed on land, been on PG and on Windstar Star Pride....I agree with Scott, the cruise is the way to go, we stayed at the Intercontinental Thalasso, loved the resort itself, the food was for the most part mediocre, the food on both ships was far better and of course, as Scott mentions, the price of the food can be eye watering. I wouldn't say staying in an overwater in the wrong way to go, far from it, but I really wouldn't go out of my way to do it again where as the ships I would. Now, the ships, a very different group of people. The Windstar passengers were far more laid back, the PG, for the most part, hmmm, snobby, maybe uptight is the correct phrase. Both crews were outstanding, but honestly, I felt more comfortable on Windstar, but that is a personal preference.
