Of all the mainstream guitar virtuosos out there, whether it's Vai, Satch, Malmsteen, Petrucci, and so many others... Paul is my favorite. I think it comes down to his impeccable picking technique, his alternate picking looks so effortless, and the way he makes use of patterns in his lead playing. Some people think his playing seems a bit robotic due to the way he works with patterns but to me, this guy has the perfect combination of technical ability and feeling, plus he just has an incredible ear for groove and melody, better than most. Always knows how to accentuate certain phrases, has fantastic vibrato, he's the whole package. Not a huge fan of his fireman guitars but every time I see one, it's distinctly Paul.
@afonsodeportugal

not only he is super clean, but he usually nails the songs note by note, some other virtuosos like satriani or guthri tend to change the way they play the songs live, some times they cut some tricky parts or just play scales on the key instead of the track solo and such, but this guy, this guy plays live and it's like you're listening to the friggin cd lol it's insane

Always overlooked this guy assuming him to be one of the Malmsteen-esque shred for shred's sake players, but the taste and brilliance of composition in this one song alone prove that he's one of the best musicians out there on pretty much every level. This track is now my muse, I WILL learn it, even if it takes me literally decades
@robwhermanson
6 жыл бұрын
Cameron Tyson i learned it. I had to. Started about 8 years ago. Then one day i got serious and learned it. It took about 8 years of learning his style/ picking techniques and practiceing other stuff. Once i got serious it only took a few months of off and on practice. But getting to that point took almost a decade as you said lol. And this video helped me learn it because he plays some of the solo parts different live than on the album. There's no way to pull some of that solo off live. No wonder he changed it a little for the live version. It's a tough one boy
