Depends who the interviewer is. The newer breed of chat show hosts (Graham Norton, alan carr and Jonathan Ross) are all about getting a laugh - boosting their own egos rather than getting the most out of their guests. That's why the bee gees walked out of Clive anderson show. The world has lost a true professional in michael parkinson. Rip ❤

He's asked to play guitar and sing, and he says he's not really prepared--PAUL MCCARTNEY--who has been doing just that his whole life, is not prepared enough in his mind. It shows you the level of his professionalism and desire to give the maximum to his audience. Each time Parkinson compliments him, he smiles shyly, looking away a bit--after all these years, still so humble, still so down to earth. You've got to love that man!

@@rtotalminer1816 You nailed it. As a musician, you realize you're always in the middle. There's always someone way better than you, and someone who's got so much they can learn from you. I think that's what's kept Paul McCartney humble, is he sees that in life too. No matter how high you rise, no matter what you accomplish, in reality you're still right in the middle.

Paul's such a sweetheart. At the end you can see the gratitude and delight in his eyes when Parkinson tells him people will be singing his songs in a thousand years' time. To those who say this is not the real Paul, all you need do is look in his eyes at that point to know the truth. He's a gentle soul who has had to learn to be guarded. Paul McCartney is the cream of the crop as a songwriter and performer! I've had the great fortune of seeing him live twice in my life. First time was with the Beatles on Aug 28, 1966 at Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles (the evening BEFORE their last show at Candlestick Park, San Francisco). I still have my ticket stub. I have EVERY album and I became a semi professional musician largely because of the musicianship of the Beatles and learning how to sing good harmony by picking out each of their parts. I saw Wings in 1990 and was floored at how much he loves to please the audience and gave us a great show with his massively powerful vocals. He has the power when he wants it and learned to scream from little Richard. I LOVE PAUL ♥

I'm afraid that's all we've time for! The other guests should have feckin' walked off! Bad timing! he!he! It remind's me of that song, I'm Walkin', yes indeed and I'm talkin' , The song that I really loved from Paul was 'Like Dreamer's Do' the Lennon/McCartney composition, a cool tune from your Decca session from 1st January 1962 with Pete Best. Your vocals have such a yearning and a cry out that when I hear it up full blast, it sounds so refreshing to hear! I'm only in my 40's but when I used to listen to the Decca sessions in my late teens, it was a great feeling to hear music of a different kind to the millennial generation, that I'd never heard before only going to secondary school and being influenced by Paul and the earlier years with Pete, John and George. The photos from the book (a real thick book, full of dates from different venues and years) are unreal, in Der Dom Park in Hamburg against the steel and John and Stuart Sutcliffe up on the old van. I think it was Astrid Kircherr who took those photos with a Rolleicord? The winkle pickers! hay!hay! Gene Vincent style! Thanks for your Music Paul and the coolness and hip look that you portrayed.
