@@WhiteAntelope7 You really had to be a kid or young person in the 1980s to fully appreciate Pee Wee. There was nothing before on children's television truly like Pee Wee's Playhouse. It was fun and surreal and educational all at once. Like a lot of children's programming, it taught kids how to be a decent individual, but without being preachy or politically correct, and unlike a lot of children's television shows before it, it never got boring. Even my teachers at school liked Pee Wee because of how the show encouraged children to be creative in constructive ways. It was one of those rare television moments when young kids and their parents could watch a show with high production values and both enjoy it.

Jim Varney was already doing commercials as his 'Ernest' character before Paul Reubens 'Pee-wee' character was on the air. There's a gargantuan misnomer that there must be a singular origin for things, for instance, this is something which has been proven incorrect again and again with social and technological developments in the archaeological field. Sometimes, there's just two(or more) people who are equally singular, whom create similar things, but take them in different directions. It would be very interesting to know if they ever met. It strikes me that they'd be very transparent to each other, re. them both doing something so alike.
