Mark Lindsay, Paul Revere, Freddy Weller, Phil Volk, Mike Smith, Keith Allison, Drake Levin, and others, were all fine musicians and songwriters who continued their work well into their senior years. Each one was accomplished. Drake and Phil came up with original dance moves. These guys worked hard for a long time to get where they have been and stayed much of their lives. Their work is a treasure. I've loved their work all my life.

My late boyfriend was a musician in San Francisco during the Summer of Love. His band almost got signed by the Turtles' label, White Whale, then the leader had a mental breakdown and nothing happened for them. He was a fine drummer (boyfriend). He was friends with Mark Lindsay, "Fang" and Drake Levin. Drake was very ill with cancer at the end of his life and played in a small club in the Bay Area. Mark would see him often. He also was friends with one of the Grass Roots. He knew everybody. The Raiders were his favorite band and really turned me on to their vast talents years after their hit records. I always liked their music but came to appreciate them even more as years went on. My boyfriend Mark passed in November 2022 and I hope he's run into his old friends. "If you believe in forever, then life is just a one night stand. If there's a rock n' roll heaven, you know they got a helluva band"...

The snobbery of the RRHOF. What merits entry? Popularity? Paul Revere and the Raiders were featured more on shows like Where the Action Is, Ed Sullivan, etc. than most bands. I'm sure they inspired some kid to pick up a guitar. Great songs to boot. Three Dog Night might not have written most of their tunes, but plenty of RRHOF inductees didn't, as well. TDN had the hits and great music, and brought to light many great song writers from Randy Newman to Leo Sayer. So what gives? Throw in Grand Funk while you're at it!

Harks back to the 50's rock/r and b era where the music was mostly about fun and feeling the rhythm.... It was in stark contrast to the direction music was going in. Full of energy. This represents the second generation of live televised performances by bands of the 60s. the first was complete performance to the recorded music. The fakery was too obvious so it was changed to using only the recorded music and background vocals; the lead vocals were real. The Mark Lindsay you hear in this is hi s real voice sung against the recorded backdrop --- professional karaoke if you will. Today, an artist or band not giving a true live performance can be a career ruined. Wasn't always like that.

I remember this on the Radio my Brother had built when I was around 9 and listened to at night to hear the TV shows that used the FM band for audio. I would switch around the Bands and pick-up am Stations that played all the new songs. Since I didn't see the TV version with all the animations and costumes, I heard the Anti-Drug message to stop before it's too late because those Kicks are getting harder to find. Look what all that free sex and slick drugs did to people and now their children have children with very little respect for authority and don't see why some drug are still illegal. Take a good look at your grand dad from the drug era . I noticed the Ed Sullivan appearance in 1967 which should mean that the band had to use Fender Guitars from the new rules by CBS that Bought Fender Musical Instrument Company in 1965 and use their TV Shows to promote Fender products when they could . Nobody ever talked about this if they were in a band and told to perform on CBS variety shows with Fender products post purchase in 1965. The Beatles were in 1964 , but did they come back in later years when Paul , John and George would have been told to put down the Rickenbacker's and Gibson's .
