I was lucky enough to see Paul in concert in the UK at the Royal Albert Hall. An amazing concert, even in his 70's an amazing, voice, guitarist and the band were 'tight'. An experience I'll never forget.

My dad has this song on his playlist when I was growing up. When I look up this song normally, I could never find the version he listened to. This is it. After 10+ years of searching, today I finally found it. I much prefer his vocalization in the chorus and the instrumentation is unparalleled. Beautiful that it was done live.

I still miss you Julio. I wish I could tell your mom how much you loved her and how beautiful your sister is and how smart she is. I miss the nights we'd curl up under the covers and hold eachother and talk. I wish u didn't do that one last hit. you'd still be here, We love you and miss you, I miss us singing this song to each other. Those were some of my favorite memories of school.

@hupp1965 Jon Landau, Rolling Stone:"What is it that the mama saw? The whole world wants to know." Paul Simon: "I have no idea what it is... Something sexual is what I imagine, but when I say 'something', I never bothered to figure out what it was. Didn't make any difference to me." So, I guess it's whatever the listener imagines it to be.

The meaning and references in the song have long provoked debate. In a July 20, 1972 interview for Rolling Stone, Jon Landau asked Simon: "What is it that the mama saw? The whole world wants to know." Simon replied "I have no idea what it is... Something sexual is what I imagine, but when I say 'something', I never bothered to figure out what it was. Didn't make any difference to me."
