I was never really into the Kiss, i respect what they did, i despite Simmons, but hearing this makes me think a lot. It is like he is talking about me. You realise , even people like Paul Stanley have problems like you have, despite having millions of money, millions of followers, and that is something Gene Simmons is not able to admit. He cant go down deep inside that like Stanley.. Who i consider very inteligent person on many levels.

I personally think, that both Paul and Gene are very intelligent people. And, deep down, they are both nice people, too. The difference I see is, that Paul is more open emotionally, and tries to share his emotions, his problems, his uncertainty even with his fans. While Gene plays a game, the person he pretends to be for the public has never existed. However, lately he's been able to take off that pose and mask somewhat, and be really himself... at least at times.

Such a beautiful and honest portrayal not only of what celebrity attitude brings - "I couldn't be comfortable outside the controlled situation of being the star child" - but also, of the kind of mind which develops into an artist like him. Most people can just drop the ball and "hangout" - but Paul was wired to have cosmic conversations and skip the mundane aspects of reality. If he didn't feel like a radiant shooting star, then he didn't feel comfortable - for better or worse. I can relate. Its great that he can be so objective about himself as he developed in his life. I think someone truly arrogant could not be this critical about himself in the past.

Yeah financially screwed or fired every Kiss band member since the original drummer and lead guitar were fired. Refused to give them solid contracts or a part of gross revenues. That is why they went through so many Kiss band members. As articulate and interesting as Paul sounds it was all about Money at the end of the day with him and Kiss. Gene just went along with whatever Paul wanted. They screwed over lots of musicians in the process over the 45 or so years. I don't dislike Paul. I find him articulate and interesting. But he has a tendency to blame others for everything that went wrong over the years with Kiss. Him and Gene screwed lots of people over the years. At the end of the day it was all about the money in their pockets. IMHO
@HappyMachorino-bd8no

@michaelbreindel9126 Paul wrote about his business work, too. How they were young and didn't know where their money disappeared, when they were on tour etc. And he was right to blame e.g. Howard Marks or Bill Aucoin. But he also said, WE were naiv. Then he took care that they were not exploited. He deserves respect for this work, too. Even Vinnie Vincent said (Expo Talk 2018): Paul " he is really, a really extremely kind soul". And "I love him". By the way, Vinnie's singer in VVI also didn't want to sign Vinnie's contract. We don't know how many people Madonna fired? Business is business. And what's Paul here talking about is his personality. Very honest. And when there is someone to "blame", then it's his mother. Emotionally cold. I believe him.

When a person spends their lifetime pursuing their heart's desire, dreams, or whatever they perceive to be the ultimate accomplishment ... once they achieve their goal, whether it be Stardom, Great Wealth, Worldly Power...or Whatever! They can end up feeling empty inside. There are plenty of examples, from 'movie stars' to Politicians. Inner peace doesn't come easy..... no matter Who, or What you BECOME...(and it can be fleeting,) no matter WHAT you Achieve. Not true he has always had long hair. He has stated that he had to have short hair in school and, therefore, was bullied because of his ear deformity and deafness.

Paul I don't know if you read this blog years after but the emptiness and lost little boy feeling is so common to everyone it should be taught as part of a person. .....a person without the one on one inexplicable acceptance and love found only in Jesus Christ. The World view quickly dismisses the relationship as 'fairy tale' from ago......but my friend the world is controlled by Satan and his goal is your demise. Why? Satan knows he was a fool when he arrogantly thought he would depose his creator. He cannot do anything to Jesus Christ and he trembles at his name but he (satan) can get to man if man through his own free will chooses to turn away from Jesus. But I personally did not refuse the unexplainable love and peace that comes from returning the love of your creator. You have been blessed with what most people dream of .....so says the world, right? Taking nothing away from Kiss and your music you cannot be fulfilled by fans or women or cars. Take the easiest step and grab the hand that has been waiting for you, Jesus Christ is peace, acceptance, love and so much more. I will have you in my prayers Paul, God Bless.

I grew up as a KISS fan from the late 70's until the mid 90's. All I ever knew personally about them was that Gene was a Jew. Paul had a lot of personal issues...wow.

It's sad. All that fame and money and the only thing he could never buy with it is the one thing he never had in life- a real friend who genuinely cared about him. If he ever had that, though, he probably wouldn't have become the rockstar he is.

I appreciate how transparent Paul is with this part of his life, it’s not always easy to talk about these topics of life. I sympathize with Paul and I myself can relate to him on this. I was happy and I actually teared up when I first heard this 2 years ago I hadn’t felt heard or understood, I never thought or felt like anyone was going through or anyone had gone through what I was experiencing or had experienced.

If you are a millionaire and lonely it’s your own damn fault.. You put to much thought into things man.. you have been in love with your self for far to long.It sounds like you have forgotten how to be the person you were before all the fame... when you die you will be just as dead as the lowest person that has ever died., Thank about that... I still like you music by the way..,

Soul selling is an expensive decision. No Jesus. No peace. Everything else is idolatry. An eternity in hell is a fearful thing

The more I know people (not all), the more I'd rather just talk about music - on a historic or emotional level, but also about gear.
