You can hear Bill Hamel - Perspectives Part 2 (Expansion Mix) for 20 seconds or so then it just cuts into Infernal Machine. If we are being totally accurate you can hear him mix Pro-Lectric - One over the top of Beta Blocker (for example 10:42 and 11:35 onwards you can hear it). So I bet he has mixed out of Beta Blocker into Pro-Lectric but this video has cut the Pro-Lectric track out. YOU can hear that anyway as it is badly cut from Beta Blocker into the middle of Sandstorm.

I'd also point out that I used to see him play in Germany and stateside and he was already playing MUCH more watered down for US audiences vs his home country sets.. either way, so glad we have these videos and recordings.

Mind the difference, kids, although it's very subtle. • DJ (e.g. Paul van Dyk) - Can flawlessly mix and match tracks and maintain a constant level of musical presence over several hours. • Not a DJ (e.g. every DJ at every party in every club I have ever been to) - Is unable to put two songs together without an awkward pause or conflicting beats. Does not know faders. - Turns off volume completely every few seconds to allow audience to stop dancing.

Not strictly true. In these particular scenarios, yes, flawless mixing is essential. But some of the best DJ's can be fairly poor at beatmatching and still maintain a level of musical presence. It is far more important to understand what the preferences of the crowd are, their reactions to the music, the musical key your switching from and to. Anyone can create a perfect mix in their bedroom, but if they just copied it to a crowd, that crowd is far more likely to leave the floor. In fact, PvD doesn't even beatmatch into Sandstorm. Point proven.

So classic. I used to have this video back in the audio galaxy days. Love the Fibonacci Sequence intro.. and he played Sandstorm before it got big haha. Also.. the 'We're Alive" pitch down. All very inspirational to me back in high school.
