Paul is very intuitive . His lyrics escape some people. He is a true artist and has easily written some of the most memorable songs in our time.

He really has. His artistry mixed with Bob Stinson's loud, punk-influenced rock guitar were such a great combination.

Paul has always given good interviews which is why the critics love him. His honesty and integrity just shine through while respecting the interviewer and not airing any dirty laundry.

Paul is the greatest. I don't think he was ever comfortable with being a young punk and as much as he tried he couldn't really grow up either. That's why everybody loves him he's like us. Thanks for the cool interview!

Most musicians suffer from arrested development. They're constantly being pampered, having basic things being taken care of.

He's a true original. I think it's interesting you mention him never having been comfortable as a young punk, I think about how much their guitar sound and overall sound was influenced by the Dead Boys, but instead of singing songs with mysogonistic and nihilistic themes, Paul played romantic songs about love and compassion. I think him not fitting in with the punks at the time probably had to do with his writing style, or vice versa

What's so interesting about Paul, is that his musical style wasn't really punk, and he probably never really identified with that genre, but so many of his choices and attitudes were punk af. That whole rebellious, anti-corporate, self-sabotage because it's cooler to be an out-of-control outsider than be famous schtick is right out of the punk Bible. Also super interesting that his art really wasn't very punk, but it fit so well with a punk guitarist in Bob Stinson. Such a unique and interesting band.

"Let's make it SOUND like something that just sold a million." I knew a still unknown band in Miami that used that formula. "We listen to the radio and try to write songs that sound like what we hear." Would love to know what their realities are like today. Probably still working in the music stores or driving box trucks making deliveries.
