Paul Westphal, Charlie Scott, Walter Davis, Connie Hawkins, Nick Van Arsdale, Neal Walk, Alvan Adams.. we had some amazing 70's players, love those classic Suns teams!! Of course Davis played more in the 80's but his best seasons were those first few in the late 70's and early 80's. My favorite Suns duo was Westphal and Davis.

Boy they sure passed the ball better back then than now. RIP Westphal. Great player.

My years for the NBA where 70's 80s and 90's --- Your rarely see a break where the ball hardly touches the floor. A true example of teamwork and cohesiveness.

I was a big fan of the Celtics in the late 60s and 70s and remember Westphal very well when he first came up. He helped the team win the championship in 1974 and almost prevented them from winning it in 1976! He was so smooth and explosive and had a great all around game!

This guy was amazing. He could shoot from either hand, dribble, rebound, assist, even block shots. I watched him block two Maravich shots in an All Star game. I grew up watching Pete play but I would take Paul as my guard.

In the 70's my favorite players were: West, Erving, Cowens, Barry , Havlicek and Westphal. Westphal was a beast in the backcourt. People just don't know how bad this guy was. He could score anytime and was smart as a whip on the court. Had great court sense and vision.

Only a 5 year peak. But was 1st team all-nba 3x and 2nd once in those 5 years. He was quicker than I remember. He was very ambidextrous and had hops!

Got to see Westphal play in person a few times here in Cleveland, once when he was a Knick, that was weird!

I'm still not understanding why lot of these young people feel that these types of gameplay with not translate to today's game. Because from what I'm seeing they play the same exact way except they probably mixed it up a little different off the dribble but at the same time is still the same great ballplayer and movements and athleticism and smoothness. They would have just like anybody that played in the early 2000s. ReTired somewhere close to 2020, just my thinking and opinion but it's clear. Just because you paint a yacht a different color doesn't mean that it changed the yacht is still the same yacht.
