Paul Wilson from BioPCM has worked with energy efficiency technologies since 2008. He is passionate about providing a product that makes houses more thermally efficient though harnessing the characteristics of phase change materials. After discovering BioPCM in mid 2011, he travelled to North Carolina to establish a trade agreement between the US and Australia/NZ. Over 50 tonnes of BioPCM has since made its way to Australian shores and into Australian homes.
It takes a little while to get your head around the idea that a material can absorb heat without getting hot and release heat without getting cold. But that's just what phase change materials(PCMs) do. Using a fundamental principal of nature, PCMs can be used to massively reduce the temperature swings in any structure and in some cases completely eliminate the need for traditional heating and cooling systems. Wouldn't it be great to have a home which heats and cools itself without spending a single dollar on energy?
In this presentation you will be able to learn;
1.What PCMs are
2.Why are there different temperature ranges and different weights of BioPCM
3.How BioPCM works
4.Where and how BioPCM can be installed, where it is best installed
5.How to estimate and calculate the benefits of BioPCM
6.How to use BioPCM to steal warmth and coolth from the day and night for later use,
7.How to design a totally passive house using BioPCM and how you can integrate BioPCM into a new design to completely eliminate the need for air conditioning and maintain a home below 25 deg C all year round.
8.How BioPCM aids in heating a home
9.What BioPCM looks like through a thermal camera
10.Why you would not just use brick or concrete or even water as a thermal storage medium, what makes PCM so special. All attendees will also receive a free sample of BioPCM to take home so that they can really understand what a game changer BioPCM really is.
