Here is what I affectionally call my Paulk Semi-Compact workbench. I bought his plans for his second version of benches and build the easier of the two, his compact bench. (No Total Station yet......yet!) When I built this one, I made it 7ft long instead of 6ft. It is 3ft wide and all dog holes are 4in on center with a set of 2in on center holes around the perimeter.
I built it out of A/C ply and when I was done but prior to making the spreader shelf, I used a SparPoly clear coat on it to add weather-resistance since this might see some weather on occasion.
I am incredibly happy with the table as a work surface and as an outfeed for the table saw. If this broke...I would make it again without question. But next time I build one of Ron's benches, I will seek out the light weight plywood. My bench, without the horses, must go around 100lbs.
