🔸This composition is addressed to the favourite deity of BMK, Lord Hanuman.
❇️The gist of the composition-
Oh son of Vayu, protector of the ardent devotees, protect me. I surrender unto your feet always, the destroyer of the worldly bondage. The one who is adept in the principles of the seven musical notes of the Sama veda. The one who delights in the ambrosial music of muraLI, and the pre eminent connoisseur (rasikapriya) of the name of Lord Rama.
🔸Some things to note-
❇️After nearly two minutes AlApana of the rAgam in a mixed mode (the usual form and with the notes of the scale), there is a brief violin follow through. The composition is then rendered highlighting the nuances of the rAgam through a number of repetitions.
❇️In the caraNam, after rendering the first two lines, BMK does a sAhitya vinyAsam of the same. The phrase saptasvarayuta is elaborated using the seven notes of this rAgam rasikapriya, and then taken up for svara vinyAsam too with the same phrase. This is most melodious. The rest of the caraNam is rendered and the entire rendition of the composition ends with that.
❇️ The name of the rAgam is used as an epithet for Lord Hanuman.
❇️ The perfect enunciation of lyrics makes the rendition even more enjoyable as always.
❇️ Dr. M Balamuralikrishna is accompanied by Smt. Dwaram Poosarla Manorama (violin), and Sri. M L N Raju (mridangam).
