You have no idea how long I've been looking for a way to do this. Thank you SO MUCH.

You're really the Harry Houdini of ZBRush. Your tutorials are worth gold. It's outstanding the understanding you have of ZBrush's power under the hood. Thank you sooooo much for sharing.

O wow, cool tech. There should be Zbrush wiki when we can see all that kind cool and very useful tech like this one.
Hello! I’m trying to make scales on a mermaid. I was trying to apply this method but I saw the comment below about the object needing to be a primitive and not a sculpted piece. Could you help me on how to do a similar effect, a basic fish scale that has every other row offset?
Hi Mike, was the option to skip columns/rows in your mask removed recently? I don't have the options in zbrush 2020.

It's still there, but your object has to be a primitive, not a polymesh3D (so if you draw out a primitive, don't hit the Polymesh3D button but go straight to the Masking menu and the options will be there under Mask by Alpha)

Hello, i've tried to make a katana blade on zbrush for some days now and i can't get it to be perfect :( My process is : make a plane 3D and make a rectangle with initialize options. Then with the clip curve I make the tip. Then using Zmodeler I qmesh to give it some thickness. Then 'im kind of stuck with what to do to make a sharp edge that doesn't create heavily bugged-twisted polygons (especially on the tip)... I'm sure there's a super fast way to do a nice and clean blade but yet i can't do it :( (I tried with a zsphere to make a custom topology but not with better results). I'd have liked to know how you would do that with your pro's techniques. Thanks for all the awesome content that you're providing us :)

I'd love it ! Thanks for the super express answer :D This 3D community is amazing !
These videos are amazing but...can you maybe slow down a little bit? You do everything so fast, it's hard to keep track.

Click the gear icon and make me as slow as you'd like, or hit shift + < or > on your keyboard.

When you'll get the basics of ZBrush in head, and it might take 6 months or a year to really get a good understanding of the interface and most of the tools. You'll just want one thing : for Michael to go faster :) his tutorials, given the amount of infos you get per minute are sooo exciting that you want more, faster. Arrimus 3D and M.Pavlovich. The best tutorials ever made on KZitem.

Thanks for all you are bringing, keep up the good work. I looked for your custom menus on gumroad but could not find it. =/ Would anyone be so kind to direct me, or perhaps Michael himself. (I believe he mentioned that they where available for download).

They're kind of buried; go to the bottom of this page and click on "Intro to ZBrush Files", and you can download them: gumroad.com/pavlovich

How do you learn all these softwares?
@MichaelPavlovich
7 жыл бұрын
Depending on the complexity, it can be as simple as sitting down and playing with some settings to learn it, or, if it's really advanced, sitting down with some video tutorials / training manual and just going through and doing tutorials / trying the tools / options and taking notes until I've got it kind of locked away in my brain. Usually after that I have to make sure I KEEP using the software, otherwise it'll leak out after a while and I'll have to start over again haha

Oh yeah. You're right. But, are the tutorials on net enough for developing and getting into the master class?
@MichaelPavlovich

Depends on the class; for my CM Master Academy class specifically, Intro to ZBrush Part 1 is a requirement (and soon, the free videos on Intro to ZBrush Part 2 and 3 on my youtube channel as well as I revamp the class to a more concise, focused curriculum). But in general, you can find very good instruction for a broad range of software on the internet; some paid, some free. It can be hit or miss, but there won't be any shortage of resources out there--
