Bro...this one speaks to me so much. I have 18 year old twins in club soccer. We just have 2-3 more months of scam. And don't get started with the "play and stay" BS of having to stay in certain hotels that on the travel agent list, probably best friends with the youth soccer program down there. I'm looking at you Surf Sports....

My daughter played soccer for 4 years. The first year it cost $25 and included a uniform shirt. By the time season 5 rolled around the registration fee was $150, uniforms cost an extra $80, and they were requiring each parent to bring snacks and drinks for the team at least 2 times during the year (previously optional). Literally nothing about the league changed during that time that would justify the price jacking. I tapped out then.

Someone needs to send this to USSF / US Soccer and tell them to take a good hard look at their “pay to play” model!!! Dad hits the nail, right on the head. Somehow we managed to take something that should not cost a lot and make it cost a ton! The coconut kickers in Brazil will alway make us look like amateurs.

And money from the World Cup is supposed to be sent back to the national soccer federation to be spent on youth soccer and developmental programs. Of course, the truth is that some Argentinian is siphoning off the money to be spent building a soccer center in Mississippi for Brett Favre's daughter to play at.
