When it came to bucking bulls in the late 90s to early 2000s, Dillinger was absolutely the Final Boss. He was so big and athletic it was insane. Only the absolute best could ride him for the 8 seconds, all the others are getting a quick trip to the dirt.

After working in a cattle market for 4 summers handling ~30 000 of all sorts each year, bulls (especially Jersey) may be majestic etc, but they are not cuddly. They are unpredictable and dangerous and if so, you are not safe in the pen.

I was on the chutes at Mesquite the night he jumped the chute in Ft. Worth. We heard immediately that had happened and he ran the hallways. When we found out it was him. He moved up to the top of the oh shit class of bulls. He was special. As rank as they ever get. No debate.

I gauge power on how the rider's rope moves. Dillinger, like Bodacious, regularly ripped the rope out of the rider's hand, as seen here. He was a juggernaut.

We had a local bull one time named naughty spotty and that bull reminded me a lot of Dillinger. You could pet him in the pen but he was a different animal in the chute. My buddy Matt and I were the last two to draw him and it was two of the only 4 rides ever made on him. If my shoulder would hold up I’d still be riding.
