The widow of PC Andrew Harper, Lissie Harper speaks exclusively to Richard and Susanna ahead of the Home Secretary’s annual speech at the Police Federation Conference. Lissie is hoping that Priti Patel will use the upcoming Police Federation Conference to update on the progress of Harper’s Law - which would see anyone guilty of killing an emergency services worker to be jailed for life. Lissie is also about to set out on the ‘light the lakes’ charity walk with Penny Lancaster, herself a serving police officer having now completed her first shift, in memory of fallen police officers. Penny is a Special constable with the City of London Police. She has the same powers as a regular police officer, but special constables volunteer their time for free.
