It's a never-ending journey. As soon as I sit back and think I've finally got my build "completed", I'm already thinking ahead to what I could try for the next revision. Right now I'm waiting to try and mount my Protium reservoir using two EK male-male extenders screwed into pass-through fittings. I saw Singularity Computers do something similar using Bitspower D-Plug fittings on one of their client build vlogs. Not sure how much better the fittings alone can support the weight of a 150mm D5 tube reservoir + coolant, compared to a conventional 120mm or 140mm bracket mount but we'll see soon enough.

great tips!! l been researching heavily past 5 months for my 4090 fe custom loop as soon as it comes in stock. u should do another video about things to add to the loop to make life easier. flow indicator scaler, drain valve, quick disconnect kits, temperature display, add magnetic led strips to add to the theme ect. maybe talk about best water cooling brands and best liquids to use and how to sync a-rgb/rgb lights with different devices . im personally gonna use: -corsair satin tubing with ek fittings. -corsair or ek radiators -ek mystic fog cooling -ek water block for gpu and mono block -ek d5 pump reservoir combo or simple flat reservoir/pump combo.

Dr. Blitz , have you considered Optimus PC Hard Line Compression Fittings. They claim to be beefier, having more threads than others. Less likely to fall out. Don't know if that claim is true, or not

What i like most is like for example when I built my first pc I struggled for an hour straight trying to put the io shield in, I like the struggle during the process because it just makes that first boot the most satisfying. I haven't thought about water cooling yet it looks interesting tho but my newbie pc building self with stick to the basics for now

I was wondering if you could do a video of some crazy rigid tubing water connections combos, just not the usual ones 90 deg elbow here and there. like EKWB has some crazy looking 45's and rotaries. just a hint to do something unusual. working on one right now. 45 deg angle with two 45 deg elbows . I rather work with fittings then bending tubes, I think that looks tacky.

Oh cool, I noticed that black Optimus box. You like high-quality stuff, like me. I just learned about below-ambient temperatures, for water cooling today. I hope that your experiment works-ou5, and you can use tht 6Ghz processor. But yeah, you are giving a lot of good knowledge and wisdom, in this video. You talk like you are an instructor. Excellent video, thanks 👍🏻🔥 And, oh yeah, I definitely want to try my hand at an open-loop. Curious, I am a little-bit past half-way through the video, have you ever tried Optimus fittings. They claim that theres has the most threads; therefore, they are the least-likely, to fall out. Did you get that sense from them, if you tried them
@DaPoets
Жыл бұрын
Yes Optimus is one of my partner companies and they have sent me pumps, blocks and fittings. All good quality, just very slow production times due to their smaller size compared to EK. Their fittings are good but having more threads doesn't mean much when it comes to issues.

@@DaPoets , interesting, I like your objectivity. It's refreshing. Yeah, at this point; I guess that it just comes down to personal preference. I like the idea of dual-redundancy, for those O-rings. But, then again, gotta stay objective. Hmm, lol, they are all pretty good, imo. Thanks ( :

21:27 I don't necessarily think its the Learning Curve of the parts what scares people. I think its the fact that from a very youngh age were taught to keep Electronics as far away possible from Water. So its just Counter-Intuitive to consider bringing the element of Water inside your computer case so close to all that expensive hardware. And that is where the next fear of leaking comes in. That is why people usually first start with an AIO cpu watercooler, and ones they experienced that is save. they might consider custom waterlooping on their next build.

Loop order doesn't make a difference. Multiple pumps are fine if you're looking for redundancy but one D5 pump is Way more than enough.

I've seen water coolers explode and pour all over the system, how common is that? I live in a pretty poor country so I'm scared to attempt water cooling, though my CPU is a i9 12900k and runs pretty warm even with the expensive air cooler I purchased. (Your disabling E-Cores tip helped me a bunch, by the way!)
@DaPoets

That's extremely rare and you only hear about it because it's fun to post when it does happen. Air coolers will struggle w/ a 12900K but an average AIO will do just fine.

Idiot here; Do you take any special cares when choosing your fittings? I'm building a custom loop and I'm going with copper radiators, but I'm wondering even with specific liquids that would prevent galvanic corrosion, most fittings seem to be brass/aluminium? Would that make a big deal or not really?

Most fittings are nickel plated copper. You actually have to work hard to find aluminum fittings these days. Just keep the metals the same and you will be fine, especially if you are using a name brand manufacturer.
