Great video...and command of the aircraft. Two observations tho: the amount of force on the gear retract lever seemed considerable; and the lighting onto the runway as you were on final wasn't as bright nor as far down the runway as I thought it would/should be. However, the video probably has something to do with that. Thanks.

He was a bit high on his final approach as indicated by the PAPI lights by the side of the runway. Yet, his landing was pretty good. And yeah, he did yank that landing gear lever pretty hard. Maybe he's just passionate, who knows....

I like to confirm what I am grabbing when I deploy landing gear, for example in Beechcraft they swapped the flaps and gear levers depending on the year you fly. Even in your case, perhaps flying only the Pilatus, it always good to make it a slow, deliberate act. This way in your mind you solidify the procedure into your flow/checklist actions at consistent times during the various phases of flight. Not a problem anyway you do it, just my $.02 Love the video though! Thank you for sharing!

Why does the plane have U.S. registration?
@stephen_101

In Europe it's easier to get an FAA PPL & Instrument Rating and fly N registered aircraft, than go through the expense and bureaucracy of the EASA system. LOADS of people do this!

@@stephen_101 Wow. That's ironic because here in the states (Where all of our commercial aircraft have N registered numbers) a lot of private jets have registrations out of the Cayman islands. Lol
