This was super helpful and specifically the wiper electrical connection and how it attaches to the cowl! Great Video!

Thank you! I ordered everything without realizing the washer nozzles were integrated into this piece. This gives me the confidence to go out there and finish the swap (and get the new cowl off my kitchen countertop). The new rubber gasket was also a major pain. Probably took 45 minutes of massaging it into the channel.

What a great video, thanks so much. Refurbing mine as the rubber gasket was split, rest of trim is fine. Can I use a sealant to fix the gasket to the cowl? It's a bit loose... My washer connecters were broken, cable tied on...

When disassembling, I noticed my electrical wires tuck behind rubber hoses, but during your reassembly your wires went in front. Not a big deal but just wanted to point that out.

Two things worth considering perhaps. I would have checked the condition of the washer jets while they were out and cleaned holes a little if necessary. Also would some light lubrication on the wiper stalks have been worthwhile ?

Hi, I know this video isn’t about license plate brackets but I was wondering if you have done a tutorial video on how to install one on front fascia where one has not existed. We’re required to have one in Ontario and my 996 is from a province where one isn’t required. I’m not really interested in using the tow hook mounting system but I will as a last resort.

Great video! Just changed my windshield cowl this weekend and the guidance on removing the electrical connections was very helpful as they are difficult to separate. However, just like with the old cowl, the windshield washer spray is hitting the top underside of the hood and not reaching the glass. Is there any adjustment for this? I have a 2002 Boxster S.

A heat gun works well to remove the oxidation and restore the black color on these trim pieces. I've had success with the cowl cover and the piece inside the front bumper cover. I'm not sure if it will get it all the way back to the "as new" condition but it certainly makes a large difference.

I've heard about this trick. Might try it on the old one to see how much it brings back. That said the new piece is pretty inexpensive and it looks real nice.

Hi Vu, great video. Regarding the video you did with the 986 shifter replacement, I'm wondering where you sourced the Boxster Red shift boot and handbrake handle. I have a white over red Boxster too. Want 'em!

I started out thinking “why bother.” I use some stuff that makes it look black again. But seeing them side by side, I agree the new piece looks better. Even better than an old one cleaned up and reblackened or painted.

Hi, What's the point of replacing the part if Autoglym plastic restorer milk does the job. I tried and my grey plastic turned black there. It didn't work only on front air intakes on both sides of a front bumper.
