I could've predict that the Gigabyte heatsink will perform better than the stock heatsink just by looking at the 2 of them.

Good video. I'm about to grab a new Samsung PCIe Gen5 drive and was worried when I saw all these videos about data corruption and overheating.

Always looking for new ways to mitigate heat. This was great, also hyped on that giveaway! Thanks for putting it on

Thank you for the video, but I have a question bro, my ssd is under the graphic card, it reaches 61°, it's an aorus 7000s with the gigabyte heatsink it cames, I know the max temp is 70° according to the official page, but I would like to know if is better to change to the board heatsink (aorus b650m elite ax) or should I buy a heatsink that comes with a little fan, or is the small fan useless? Thank you again!

No problem and thank you for watching! tbh your heatsink will work perfectly fine, unless you do high file transfers often, then I would suggest a heatsink with a fan.

Very useful video. I always say this: Any heat in my case is too much heat. I could not install the heat sink that came with the SSD, it is way too high, and the only two places it would fit on my B660 is under the video card, so I have a smaller copper heat spreader on it, right in the path of a 120mm fan so that pushes the heat out of the case. I have a PCIe 5 motherboard, but the sockets for the SSD are still PCIe 4 - I have been looking at my Christmas budget and.... it might be in the future.

Most heatsinks require modification to work correctly on motherboards, sounds like you did it the right way with having a copper heat spreader on it. Hopefully you'll get that motherboard that you want soon, thanks for watching Alvander!

Thanks for making this vid. I installed it on my stock heatsink. But overall do u say just to use the stock one or is thr gigabyte one better?

stock heatsink will suffice for many users, i definitely wouldn't worry about the cooler the ssd came with 👌

These things were all terribly designed and not well thought out. Should you take off the paper. Is there a pad in the way. Does it need to be removed. What if you lose the screw? SATA SSD's are just so much easier to work with, these things are a PITA once the computer is built, standing veritcal, and in place and in use and can not be moved. You can forget trying to install one in place under the GPU.
