Is it possible to eat low GI, but not necesarily low carb? I mean, are all the Low GI diets also low carb? Or can i eat low GI, eating more than 100gr carbs per day?
@NourishwithMelanie
Жыл бұрын
Great question! Glycaemic index (GI) is a rating system for carb containing foods and explains how slowly or quickly the carbohydrates are digested and their impact on blood glucose levels. This means that you can definitely consume more than 100grams of carbs a day focusing on those low GI carb options. Some low GI carbs include mixed grain bread, pasta, oats, quinoa, banana, apple, sweet potato, etc.

You need 25 grams of fibre each day, so look for at least 3grams of fibre per serve

I just came across your channel. I've just started attending a weight management clinic. The doctor gave me their manual to follow, which is a low to medium GI plan. Today is a stepping stone start, but tomorrow is the official start to my new lifestyle. I can't wait to start feeling better and seeing results.

- all dairy - apples - oranges - multigrain foods e.g. bread - porridge - sweet potatoes This is just to name a few For a more tailored approach to what would suit YOU best you would need to see a dietitian that specialises in PCOS

Hi, I'm new to trying a low GI diet, and I keep seeing conflicting information about eating fruit, for example oranges and bananas, are these a good snack or bad?
