Just catching on on your latest fab offerings in downtown Cuenca Ecuador. Lovin your music choices. Your KZitem video and Jo's Facebook posts are always a treat. Never apologise for being real and telling it like it is. The honesty you share is very appealing. Making such great progress!

It's been awhile, good to see you back. No shame in not summiting Baden-Powell, you explained about the headlamp, and safety issues, but at least you got a third of the way up. The Angeles Crest Hwy really does parallel the PCT in that section, so you still have continuous steps north to Canada. A tip about laundry, get a 2 gallon Ziploc bag and put in water and soap, then zip it closed and use your hands to press down on it, back and forth like a plunger. Pour it out then put in rinse water to repeat. Of course you need a good water source for that, but when available it's great. A Ziploc weighs very little and packs easily. Paper soap leafs are great to carry backpacking, they're lightweight and don't leak.

That was a handful of stuff all going wrong for you at once and equipment failure sucks, but it is unavoidable. We had so much stuff break on us (including our tent!) we definitely lost our sense of humour once or twice. No matter how well you prepare, the PCT will always find unexpected ways to humble you. But you keep on keeping on, and that is all that matters. 👍

Thank you for sharing your experience, makes me feel better😂 All we focus on is how long we have planned this for and how lucky we are to be able to be here

We hiked that section in 2019. Got within a mile of the summit and had to turn around because we were not properly equipped to deal with the snow. Did the road walk instead. It was disappointing but we made the right decision. Don't worry, there is plenty of spectacular scenery ahead of you!! We plan to hike Oregon and Washington this year. Maybe we will see you out there!

@@Restlesslegsadventures It would be so amazing to see you on trail. I live near Seattle, am traveling to Bend, Oregon at the end of July to start hiking at Elk Lake Resort. "Good Karen" and "Voon" are our trail names.... I am loving your videos. Thanks so much for sharing your adventure!
