Today I'm up at an HEB Fuel gas station in San Antonio TX along Perrin Beitel and Thousand Oaks Dr, and I'm here to check out this PDQ Tandem Surfline. This system was installed in late 2021 to go along with the gas station that was built on the same site where there used to be an old Taco Cabana from years ago. This system is original to the wash bay, and other than the red brushes which are an exclusive for HEB, there's nothing too special about this system, it's mostly just a stock standard Surfline, but I do believe this was installed just before HEB started custom ordering their systems with the "HEB Wash" logo on the wash gantry for future Surflines installed at other locations. I bought the top dollar car wash which came out to $13.99, and wash quality I would give this an 8/10, undercarriage was very good (something tells me these Surflines are now starting to use the undercarriage applicators from the Laserwash 360 Plus), the presoak application was decent, though a bit watered down (side note, I do think these apply presoak much better and effectively than the ProTouch predecessors, especially along the top), the soft touch cycle went very good with both of the side brushes and top brush profiling nicely (and I do love how once it gets to the back of my truck's cab and over the bed, it immediately switches to the overhead sprayers, that's some very clever programming), the tri-foam pass was good (though a little light on the sides), as was the rinse cycle to wash it off, the wheel scrubbers and side blasters did excellent with both rotating nozzles on both sides working as they should, the lava falls feature for the sealant wax, the surface protection pass was good, and lastly the flash dry feature did a pretty good job (though I do admit, I'm not entirely too keen on the feature), as well as the final dry pass going forward. I hope you've enjoyed the video and stay tuned for more to come.
