In this 45-minute webinar, members of the Peace Corps Legacy Association (PCLA) and National Peace Corps Association (NPCA) introduced an exciting new initiative geared toward recognizing the service of Returned Peace Corps Volunteers (RPCVs), affiliate groups, and other significant Peace Corps contributors: Peace Corps Plaza. The goal of the project is to inspire, honor, and elevate Peace Corps service. Recorded July 17, 2024.
Hear an overview of the Plaza project, including its background, objectives, and opportunities for the RPCV community to provide its support. Following the overview, there was a panel discussion, moderated by NPCA Director of Partnerships Carla Brown, addressing a spectrum of questions about the project and discussing the overarching plans to advance the plaza. Also, the panel explained how the Plaza - located in the National Service Park near Rochester, Minnesota - will be constructed using personalized bricks donated largely by RPCVs, their families and friends. The panelists consisted of two PCLA Board members, Ken Flies and Amy Earle, along with NPCA President and CEO Dan Baker.
There was a Q&A session inviting the audience to ask the panelists questions about the Plaza project.
