Bleaklow is a vast area of peat bog and moorland with a hidden secret. Roughly 3/4 of a mile from the summit of Bleaklow Head close to the Trig Point on Higher Shelf Stones is the crash site of a B-29 Superfortress known as 'Overexposed'. The plane crashed on the 3rd November 1948 killing all 13 crew on board.
