Great review. It was between the Peak and a regal, I went with a regal, with midge jaws just because it fit my needs better but I know I’d have been very happy with the Peak.

Why do you have the vise installed in the end hole . . . most I've seen use the center hole for the vise. Advantages or disadvantages to using the end hole?

Thanks for asking and watching my videos. To answer your question your question… that’s just what worked for me. Having my profiler in the back and then the tool caddy in between and low out of the way put my vise in the first or front hole… So yeah that’s how that got that way.

Thanks for the quick reply. I suppose with the weight of that base there is no tilting issues when tying. I'll have to try my Peak with that setup. Thanks, Fred@@lockhackle2645

Where did you get the larger stem and profiler plate? Brand? Thanks!

Thank you for watching. And, the longer post is 3/8 inch aluminum dowl from home depot. The white plastic is from something laying around , it’s got glued to a section of metal coat hanger. The post is drilled with four holes to set the wire into in order to move the plate up and down. I hope this helps you out.

Would it be possible for you to make me a profile plate like yours? May I ask some questions, I am brand new at this and I am right handed and am even unsure of how to set up and run the vise. Thank You

It’s a simple thing, at your hardware store, get a price of 3/8 “ aluminum rod. Find something plastic in white… and a piece of heavy wire.glue the plastic to thewire (hot glue) dril the aluminum rod with a few holes to set the wire in

I like your set up with all the accessories mounted on the base. No searching or fumbling around looking for scattered tools.

Love my PeakC, been tying on it for 4 winters now. CabB not think of anything I'd like to change. Although I do think the rotary resistance screw should have been brass. But the plastic one works fine.

Maybe consider making the profiler for sale. I think it could be a little money maker for you if you price it reasonably

Thanks for all your explanations on this vise and the accessories. I have a question for you. How did you fix the brass adaptor you made to fit on the shaft of the rotary vise. Thanks in advance.

Thank you, I jut a 1 1/2 in length of brass rod, measured the rotary handle outside dimension at 1/4 inches. I drill a 1/4 hole in the brass, and slid it on and it friction fit. For now. Soon I plan on drilling and tapping for a set screw on the pack portion of the brass handle. The groove in the brass was simply done on a bench grinder… slowly .

I know this is a little old, but would like to reinforce your suggestion to find a fly shop or fly fishing club that does fly tying nights and start attending. No matter what your skill level there will always be someone that can and is wiling to teach you something new. Plus the social value can lead to new places to fish and new fishing buddies. Check out the Fly Fishers International so see if there is a club near you.

Love mine. Mine brought 10 years ago had a finely knurled NUT for the adjustment. Looks so much better, can't imagine why they would have changed this, to make a $1 more profit?

Hopefully a person could find a brass. Bolt that would work cause Peak doesn't give them away.
