It has been five or six days since the peanut 🥜 harvesting of Brother ‘Baby’. I didn’t forget to join them whenever I got time. Freshly harvested peanuts taste milky. Sometimes we use to take charred corns with boiled peanuts for our breakfast.
The taste of peanuts fried with salt in a frying pan is extraordinary. The peanuts give you a very sweet taste amid the taste of salt barely.
I prepared a bottle of masala peanuts specially for my brother and father since they always find something to munch. Preparing masala peanuts is a piece of cake. The peanuts should be spread with rice flour, gram flour and other necessaries and make the lump and stick to peanuts. Then, it should be deep fried with dry chilies and curry leaves.
There’s no point of this peanut harvesting if we miss to prepare sweet peanuts with fried peanuts. So that everyone loves and addicts to them. The peanuts should be added to caramelized sugar along with a spoon of butter and then the mixture should be spread on a pan and should cut into pieces. There’s no doubt, it tastes heavenly. 😍
Even if it is not the season, uncle ‘Somee’ had harvested Durian (A fruit). Though they had brought us seven to eight Durians, only three or four Durians had left. I mixed Durian along with Cream Cheese and Whipping Cream. Then I spread them on pancakes and also spread some pieces of peanuts on them and placed them on one by one. When I look into the tray It gives a picture of a beautiful girly hat on a little girl’s head. The side view is giving you a beautiful drape sewn with little curled ribbon. 👒
Next day morning, I just went to the garden as I was bored. I plucked some long beans and left some more beans for the parrots. My mother had prepared a dish of long beans along with tempered peanuts.
My brother was asking me to prepare Watalappan for weeks now. (A sweet desert) He can’t be happy with just a piece. He needs a bigger piece. After caramelizing by adding jaggery, cardamom, nutmeg, cinnamon and coconut milk, eggs should be beaten by hand. Then only you could get the proper moist and texture. On the top of the mixture you can add some pieces of peanuts. Steam it for two to three hours and let it be cool. We could cut them into pieces once it gets cool. The pieces are almost like a bee hive with super moist and texture. My mouth is watering. So that it looks amazing. My father has got a heavenly tasted desert this time. So, I leave them the bigger pieces. 🍨🥜
