Dave wasn't actively sought out because PJ were successful in vilifying him in the music circles they were in. Plus after PJ, Dave was essentially "over it". Based on the interviews he has had since then, his name was mud during that time. He was one of the best rock drummers on the globe. And he just wanted to disappear. He did exactly that but he also was able to heal with his band called "Green Romance Orchestra" a few years later. He also did an unreleased album with Axyl Rose (Guns n Roses) that never saw the light of day... Apparently very promising music.

EVER HAVE A DAY YOU WISH YOU COULD LIVE OVER? Still can't believe I was a part of this. Fence came down [its all 11:25 in the video - Vedder points and says "Look at that! TURN AROUND AND LOOK AT THAT!] and the masses ran and jumped down that amphitheater wall. Lost my shoe in the mosh near the front. Half way through the concert, people chucking clothes and anything they could get their hands on. I'm hit by a flying shoe, the guy next to me grabs it and goes to throw it. I stop him and yell," its mine". He's like, "yeah, sure buddy". I show him the match on my other foot. Eyes wide and blown away, he hands it over. Stars aligned that day and night - GREAT MUSIC!

I was at this show too, with a few other ex Air Force buddies. Near the stage, security kept spraying water on us because it was hot, but kept doing it as the sun was going down and it got chilly. Neil Young got into a hissy fit with a roadie while he played over the direction of a fan (not the concert goer kind, the cooling kind). He also got off on a feedback tangent that I thought was a waste of time. Blind Melon was great. But the proverbial schitt really hit the fan when Pearl Jam came on. People started raining down from the cheap seats, breaking down barriers. It was on the Seattle news that night. We were caught in a HUGE mosh pit the entire time, lol. It was freakin scary and exhilarating at the same time. Epic show and the next day we felt grateful to be alive, uninjured having survived the pit! Saw STP and Page/Plant at the Gorge around ‘95 or so and just an epic location and both shows sounded phenomenal.
